Technologies at Our Dental Clinic

At Orchard Park Dental & Implant Center, we utilize technology to help inform treatment planning and make your dental appointments run more smoothly. Because we can display digital x-rays and scans on the monitors in our treatment rooms, we can show you any issues in your mouth and explain your treatment plan.

Our goal is to provide patients with efficient dental care, and make sure they are fully informed about their oral health. Dental technology helps us do that.

CEREC Same-Day Restorations

CEREC® (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) is a system that enables the fabrication and placement of inlays, onlays and ceramic dental crowns in one appointment.

iTero 3D Scanner

The iTero® intraoral scanner produces highly accurate, 3D impressions of your bite. It helps us store data digitally, plan your dental treatment in real time and create Invisalign clear aligners.

Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays produce extremely detailed images of the teeth and gums, as well as other oral conditions and structures. These x-rays replace traditional photographic x-ray film with digital sensors that allow your dentist examine parts of your mouth that are not visible to the naked eye.

Panoramic X-Rays

Panoramic x-rays allow your dentist to produce a single image of your entire mouth. This image is a flat representation of the sinus structures, teeth, upper and lower jaws and temporomandibular joints (TMJ). Panoramic x-rays are commonly used to help plan treatments for braces, dentures, implants and extractions.

Dental Lasers

At Orchard Park Dental & Implant Center, our dentists use dental lasers (highly focused light beams) in a variety of soft tissue procedures. They allow our dentists to complete dental procedures such as reshaping gums, treating periodontal disease or lengthening crowns while reducing pain, along with limiting the need for medical interventions.

Intraoral Scanners

Intraoral scanners create digital dental impressions - an excellent alternative to traditional dental impressions that can be time consuming and messy. Your dentist simply takes a digital image of your teeth within minutes using an optical scanning wand. This device allows your dentist to capture highly accurate data to create digital replicas of the hard and soft tissues of your mouth.

Oral Cancer Screening Device

The dentist uses the VELscope® - an oral cancer screening device - to help them identify abnormalities and diseases in the mouth, such as cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions. Using fluorescence visualisation technology, the scan can be performed in your dentist’s office during routine exams and under normal lighting conditions in about two minutes.

Cone Beam Cat Scan

Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a special type of x-ray machine that creates 3D images of dental structures, soft tissues, nerve paths and bone in the craniofacial region in a single scan. Images produced with CBCT allow for more precise treatment planning, including examining your airway for snoring and sleep apnea treatment.
